Alex Beard,
BSN, RN

Clinical Nurse Consultant · BLS & ACLS Certified

Alex brings more than a decade of healthcare experience across emergency medical services, intensive care, travel nursing, hospice and palliative care, medical-surgical nursing, and progressive care.

His Role at Veteran EMS Consulting

Clinical experience shaped for practical readiness.

  • Clinical-readiness assessments
  • Emergency planning and preparedness programs
  • Clinical review of training and educational content
  • Workplace medical-response planning
  • Practical recommendations informed by prehospital and hospital care
  • Support for medically sound, realistic readiness strategies

Alex began his healthcare career in the spring of 2014 as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. He spent approximately two years providing emergency care with an advanced life support unit in a busy urban EMS system, followed by three years supporting non-emergency medical transportation for a broad and diverse patient population.

After earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May 2020, Alex entered intensive care during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has since accumulated six years of nursing experience, including four years in intensive care and two years traveling throughout Georgia to support multiple healthcare facilities.

His clinical background also includes hospice and palliative care, medical-surgical nursing, and progressive care. Outside his consulting work with Veteran EMS Consulting, Alex primarily serves as a hospice case manager.

At Veteran EMS Consulting, Alex applies his experience across prehospital, acute-care, and end-of-life settings to support clinical-readiness assessments, emergency planning, training programs, and practical workplace preparedness. His broad perspective helps ensure that recommendations remain medically sound, realistic, and focused on the needs of both organizations and the people they serve.

Across the Continuum of Care

Preparedness informed by the full patient journey.

Alex understands emergency readiness from both sides of the handoff—from the first minutes of prehospital care through intensive hospital treatment, recovery, and end-of-life support.

That perspective helps Veteran EMS Consulting develop recommendations that work in real environments, account for human needs, and support a more effective response when minutes matter.
